As a follow-up to a major exterior renovation that Harper Construction “knocked out of the park” for us a couple of years ago, my wife and I asked them to address some interior cosmetic renovation work– mainly sheetrock and flooring work. We recently had our home on Kiawah Island renovated by Harper Construction. We had 4 bathrooms gutted and 1 half bath added. In addition, several new floors were laid, electrical fixtures replaced, and had the interior painted. Harper also addressed many maintenance items that occur in an older home, including a new roof. Overall great experience! Dave Rust (lead construction manager) is highly professional and immediately addressed any of our concerns. We needed to have it completed before a special family weekend and they delivered! As with any renovation or build, items are caught on the walkthrough but these are also being addressed in a timely fashion.

We met with Chris Harper in February of 2016 to estimate renovation on our 1965 brick home master bath and bedroom. Because we are Senior citizens on a budget he kept working and adjusting costs to fit our budget. He was very patient with us as we had to make the cost-cutting decisions. He has worked on many houses in the Kiawah Island area and he was able to direct us to local businesses that could help us. At this point we have had demolition which was more difficult because there was wire mesh with setting bed in the old walls,original 4x4 's were on all door headers, there was a cast iron bath tub to remove in pieces and small octagon shaped ceramic tiles on the bathroom floor. His team worked thoroughly to accomplish the removal of these challenging structures. We are headed for carpentry and sheet rocking soon, and we are confident that the end result will be perfect! Chris has many photos of his work on HOUZZ that are proof of his ability to create the best designs for his customers.

On very short notice Harper Construction stepped into the shoes of our previous contractor who had been performing several upgrades to a 25-year-old house including the replacement of all windows and skylights, electrical work, gutting and re-doing the master bathroom, painting the entire house inside and out, replacing and staining all existing hardwood floors and cracked travertine tiles in the kitchen. Given the extended delays in completing the above tasks and particularly the unsatisfactory results in completing the last two items, we turned to Harper Construction on the recommendation of our interior designer. Harper Constructions was able to correct the problems with the hardwood floors very quickly including the replacement of the entire kitchen tiles which were beyond repair with hardwood flooring which turned out great. In addition to completing those assigned tasks to our complete satisfaction and in a relatively short period of time Harper Construction was also very diligent in resolving various punch list items emanating from worked performed by our first contractor. It should also be noted that Chris worked seemlessly with both our interior designer and kitchen cabinet contractor. Needless to say we are very pleased with the final results and would look to engage Harper Construction again for any other home improvement projects we may decide to undertake.
